Tarifa Carnival 2026 –  Daily Program

The Tarifa Carnival, organized by the Tarifa City Council, takes place from 22 February to 1 March 2026.
This vibrant Andalusian celebration combines music, costumes, parades, comedy, and traditional performances, with many events especially suitable for children and families.

Main venues include La Calzada (main stage and street events), the Alameda Theatre, and the Paseo de la Alameda, where a covered carnival marquee will also be available.

Sunday, 22 February

  Official presentation of local carnival groups
  Presentation of the Carnival Goddess and Dios Momo
  Traditional community event “Pucherá de coles”

• 20:00 – Alameda Theatre
  Golden Whistles (Pitos de Oro) Awards Gala
  With performances by children’s carnival groups and local chirigotas

Monday–Wednesday, 23–25 February

• 20:00 – Alameda Theatre
  Official Carnival Groups Competition
  Evening performances by carnival choirs, chirigotas, and comparsas

Thursday, 26 February – Children’s Day

• 11:00 – Streets of Tarifa
  Children’s parade with local schools

  Big Children’s Costume Party – “Enjoy Your Costume”

Friday, 27 February

• 21:00 – La Calzada
  Official Carnival Opening Speech (Pregón)
  by Jesús Franco Guerrero

  Crowning of Dios Momo and the Carnival Goddess
  Live music by Orquesta Safiro

  Carnival Marquee opens (covered space for celebrations)
