Overview

Autonomous Robotics & Programming (Upper Primary / Level 2)

These classes focus on experimenting with autonomous robots using sensors, controllers, and actuators. The course introduces the three essential components of an autonomous robot, laying a foundation for more advanced robotics learning.

Participants explore how robots respond to their environment using basic software algorithms included in the kit. Once these core principles are understood, children are able to design and build their own simple autonomous robot.

If the classroom setup includes computers, the program can be expanded to include an introduction to block-based programming with Scratch, supporting the development of logic and problem-solving skills.

Recommended age / level:
For students in grades 4–6 or those who have already completed ROBO-Makers 1.

Materials and tools:
Classes use the MRT3 Kit – Levels 1 & 2, which includes mechanical components, sensors, motors, and a programmable central unit.
Children alternate between hands-on building and digital work using PCs with Scratch as the primary programming environment.
