Halloween in Costa del Sol

October 28, 2025 Katrina

Spooky Season in the Sun: Halloween in Costa del Sol (2025)

There’s something about Halloween on the Costa del Sol. Maybe it’s the contrast of spooky skeletons against palm trees. Or the fact that kids can run around in costumes without getting buried in five layers of fleece. Whatever it is, this coast knows how to do October right.

From little craft corners in cafés to full-blown neighbourhood takeovers, Halloween here has its own flavour: more sunshine, less drizzle; more glow-sticks, fewer muddy boots. And yes, there’s always someone dressed as a mini vampire eating an empanada.

What to Expect in 2025

This year, Halloween falls midweek — which means festivities stretch over two weekends (lucky us). And families around the coast are getting into it in the best way: school fairs, spooky workshops, night markets, costume parades, foam parties, trick-or-treating trails, and more “boo” than you can shake a broomstick at.

We’ve spotted events popping up from Estepona to Nerja, and everywhere in between. Think:

👻Bilingual Halloween parties with dancing, arts & crafts, and spooky snacks.

🎃Trick-or-treat trails in gated communities and old-town streets.

👻Nature-based camps doing pumpkin carving in the forest.

🎃Halloween Nerf battles, zombie chases, haunted football matches (!).

👻Local cafés offering Halloween-themed storytime or slime stations.

👉 We’ve collected all the best of them right here: Halloween Events 2025

A Few of Our Favourites

We won’t list everything (that’s what the website is for) but here are a few gems worth bookmarking:

1. Trick-or-Treat in the Park (Fuengirola & Mijas)

Join families for a relaxed late-afternoon route around local parks. Kids in costume, parents with thermoses. Look for signs from Club Danés or local international schools hosting mini routes.

2. Halloween Weekend at Granja Escuela (Los Barrios)

Visitors can take part in all the regular farm activities, plus special Halloween workshops, a pumpkin patch, and the best costume contest.

3. Halloween at Selwo Aventura (Estepona)

From mid-October, the park goes spooky. Come in costume, enjoy themed shows, and check out the special promo days for costumed kids.

4.  Halloween Disco at Fusion Studios (Coin)

Yes, it’s as fun as it sounds. Get ready for a spooktacular evening full of dancing, games, and prizes for the best costumes!

5. Pumpkin Play Café Pop-Ups (Various Towns)

Watch for themed playdates at family cafés like Kalt Helados, Ikigai Tribe, or Organic Market. These low-key gatherings often include crafts, face paint, and snacks you’ll end up eating yourself.

How to Halloween Like a Local

  • Costumes: Spanish Halloween tends to lean spooky, not sparkly. Witches, vampires, zombies = yes. Unicorns? Still welcome, but expect some cobwebs.

  • Timing: Most events start late-afternoon and stretch into the evening. Bring layers, snacks, and some patience. And maybe a glow stick or two.

  • Decor: Shops and homes do it up! Don’t be surprised if your local frutería has cobwebs on the melons.

  • Photos: Lighting is often dim, but the memories are golden. Bring your phone, but live it first.

Final Trick (or Treat?)

Halloween on the Costa del Sol isn’t just one day. It’s a full vibe. A week (or two) where kids are a little wilder, parents are a little looser, and everyone gets to play.

So whether you’re carving pumpkins in the forest, chasing zombies with a Nerf blaster, or just sipping coffee while your kid glues glitter to a ghost — there’s a place for you here.
